Policy on Collaboration
You may collaborate on homeworks with your fellow students to limited degree.
You may discuss general issues with other students, but the specific details of
your homeworks must be your own work. More specifically, you may discuss details
of the algorithms presented in lectures and the textbook, but you may not
discuss details of how to apply these algorithms in the context of specific
projects. If you had significant help in doing your homework by any other source
besides the professor, the teaching assistant or the textbook, you must specify
in writing:
- source of help
- type of help
Any violations of this policy will be reported to the Dean of the Graduate
School. All parties involved in a case of plagiarism get an automatic grade of
zero (0) in the homework/test. Repeated cases of plagiarism get an automatic F
in the course.
